About Us
Growing up, Brother Dickie Bryan experienced firsthand the devastating effects of alcoholism on his family. His father was a workaholic, and his mother struggled with addiction, leading to a broken home and eventual divorce. These experiences instilled in him a deep burden to help others facing similar challenges.
Who we are.
Dr. Renee Westbrook, DVM
Dr. Renee Westbrook has known she wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. A native of Southaven, Mississippi, her journey into veterinary medicine began at just 12 years old when she started shadowing Dr. Ann Nichols Dye. From that early experience, she knew she had found her calling.
In 1990, Dr. Westbrook moved to Starkville, Mississippi, to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Following graduation, she gained valuable experience working alongside other veterinarians before opening Self Creek Veterinary Clinic in the fall of 1999.
At Self Creek Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Westbrook cares for a wide range of patients, from small companion animals to large animals. Her mission is simple and steadfast: to provide the highest quality care so that animals can live full, healthy lives.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Westbrook enjoys crocheting, traveling, and square dancing—a hobby she began in early 2025 and quickly grew to love. She also treasures spending time with her two daughters, Chele Westbrook and Katie Rose Westbrook.
